My RMS will not come up anymore. It has been working for several months.

Error is:

Help? Before I try a complete rebuild.

Can you make sure your SDK Service is running (and stays running after
started). If it is, could you try restarting it and connecting with the
console again?

Yes it is running and stays running. I tried restarting the server and tried
reconnecting but no success.

I've seen behavior like this in situations where the Ops Mgr database was
nearing capacity. Upon restart the SDK and Config services start up
immediately, but the operator console will report that the SDK service has
not yet initialized for extended periods of time (or indefinately). Make sure
you haven't consumed all your physical disk space (which I imagine in most
scenarios is unlikely) and failing that double check to make sure that you
haven't reached the file capacity of your SQL database (more likely). You can
also turn on auto grow if it's not already on.

I checked the Databases and there is tons of room.

I have since re-installed on entirely new servers and I have come across the
same problem. It has been working for many weeks and now stopped working. The
sdk service will not start. The last thing I did before it game me errors is
I re-installed "Visio Studio Tools for office".

Are there any errors on the RMS in the Operations Manager event log from the
SDK Service?

I have an error from the Operation Manager Eventviewer (the second message).

The first error I would like to mention around the same time is from the
application log:

Source: .NET runtime error
Category: none
event id: 5000

The second error is;

Source: OpsMgr SDK Service
Category: None

User: N/A

exception.
The service will attempt to restart.

Hello Anthony,

I was receiving this error as well. It turned out that I had to re-enter the
password for my SDK account that the OpsMgr SDK Service was using to Log On.
Once I verified that the right password was being used I know longer had any
issues starting the Operations Manager Operator Console. You may want to try
resetting your SDK service password and re-entering it for OpsMgr SDK service.

Best,

James

Any resolution to this? I am receiving the same error. We just installed
SCOM 2007 last week and was running fine. Came back after the weekend and
now I am receiving this error. I look under Services, OpsMgr Config Service
and OpsMgr SDK Service are set to automatic but not started. Both services
are using a SDK service account I created. When I try to start the service I
get the following: "The OpsMgr Config Service on Local Computer started and
then stopped. Som services stop automatically if they have no work to do,
for example, the Performance Logs and Alerts service." I receive this same
message when I try to start the OpsMgr SDK Service. The OpsMgr Health
Service is set to automatic and started, but Log on As is set to Local System.

I put this SDK account I created in the domain admins group, rebooted the
server and the services started. I am now able to open SCOM 2007. Should
the the SDK service account be in the domain admins group?

TIA,
Sobo
