Scheduled Maintenance of BASE monitoring component

I have a business need to have a scheduled maintenance window for IIS
monitoring. I have been looking for a “simple” way to put just a portion,
IIS, of a management pack into maintenance mode but I keep coming back to
“edit the XML” sort of links. To complicate things the servers I want to do
this to are also part of a cluster. I was wondering if anyone could point me
in the right direction?
