It allows you to download a World Wide Web site from the Internet to a local directory, building recursively all directories, getting HTML, images, and other files from the server to your computer. HTTrack arranges the original site's relative link-structure. Simply open a page of the "mirrored" website in your browser, and you can browse the site from link to link, as if you were viewing it online. HTTrack can also update an existing mirrored site, and resume interrupted downloads. HTTrack is fully configurable, and has an integrated help system.

Q: HTTrack has crashed during a mirror, what's happening?
A: We are trying to avoid bugs and problems so that the program can be as reliable aspossible. But we can not be infallible. If you occurs a bug, please check if you have thelatest release of HTTrack, and send us an email with a detailed description of yourproblem (OS type, addresses concerned, crash description, and everything you deem to benecessary). This may help the other users too.
Q: I want to update a mirrored project, but HTTrack is retransfering all pages. What's going on?
A: First, HTTrack always rescans all local pages to reconstitute the website structure, and it can take some time. Then, it asks the server if the files that are stored locally are up-to-date. On most sites, pages are notupdated frequently, and the update process is fast. But some sites have dynamically-generated pages that are considered as"newer" than the local ones.. even if they are identical! Unfortunately, there is no possibility to avoid this problem, which is strongly linked with the server abilities.
Q: I want to continue a mirrored project, but HTTrack is rescanning all pages. What's going on?
A: HTTrack has to (quickly) rescan all pages from the cache, without retransfering them, to rebuild the internal file structure. However, this process can take some time with huge sites with numerous links.
Q: HTTrack window sometimes "disappears" at then end of a mirrored project. What's going on?
A: This is a known bug in the interface. It does NOT affect the quality of the mirror, however. We are still hunting it down, but this is a smart bug..
Questions concerning a mirror:
Q: I want to mirror a Web site, but there are some files outsidethe domain, too. How to retrieve them?
A: If you just want to retrieve files that can be reached through links, just activatethe 'get file near links' option. But if you want to retrieve html pages too, you can bothuse wildcards or explicit addresses ; e.g. add
www.someweb.com/* to accept allfiles and pages from
www.someweb.com.
Q: I have forgotten some URLs of files during a longmirror.. Should I redo all?
A: No, if you have kept the 'cache' files (in hts-cache), cached files will not beretransfered.
Q: I just want to retrieve all ZIP files or other files in a website/in a page. How do I do it?
A: You can use different methods. You can use the 'get files near a link' option iffiles are in a foreign domain. You can use, too, a filter adress: adding +*.zipin the URL list (or in the filter list) will accept all ZIP files, even if these files areoutside the address.
Example : httrack
www.someweb.com/someaddress.html +*.zip will allowyou to retrieve all zip files that are linked on the site.
Q: There are ZIP files in a page, but I don't want to transferthem. How do I do it?
A: Just filter them: add -*.zip in the filter list.
Q: I don't want to download ZIP files bigger than 1MB and MPG files smaller than 100KB. Is it possible?
A: You can use filters for that ; using the syntax:
-*.zip*[>1000] -*.mpg*[
In Chrome, open Dev Tools, then login to the website you need to capture. In the Network tab, click on the HTML page you requested to find your session cookie (the name of this will differ depending on the back-end framework used). Place this into HTTrack under "Additional HTTP Headers".
HTTrack app is a free freeware offline browser tool that enables you to download a website from the Internet to a local directory while creating all directories recursively and transferring html, pictures, and other files from the server to your device.
HTTrack also sets up the relative link structure of the original website. You can browse the "mirrored" website by opening a page in your browser and clicking on the links on it just like you would while viewing it online. A current mirror site can be updated, and HTTrack can pick up where it left off with resumed downloads.
The first example downloads the page and creates a history what was copied in to a separate file. With this version you should be able to move to a new webroot on a webserver and use the Site as it was.
Of course you need to install all the services the website uses.
You have to take the second link with --convert-links. Otherwise when you click on a link it sends you to the website of itute. And i can not guarantie that you get all the files. It says default is 5 Level deep. It tries just once. You have endless settings you can adjust. Just check out wget --help
HTTrack Website Copier is a free software program that allows you to download a copy of a website. It is a useful tool if you want to make a quick backup of your business's website with its structure intact. The program is simple to use and does not require any advanced technical knowledge. Once you download a website with the program, you can browse through its pages as if it were live on the Web.
Open HTTrack Website Copier. In Windows, the program is a standalone application. In Linux, it runs from within your default Web browser. However, the process to copy a website is nearly the same in the two versions, with just a few slight differences.
WEBHTTRACK WEBSITE COPIER is a handy tool to download a whole website onto your hard disk for offline browsing. Launch ubuntu software center and type "webhttrack website copier" without the quotes into the search box. select and download it from the software center onto your system. start the webHTTrack from either the laucher or the start menu, from there you can begin enjoying this great tool for your site downloads
Recently, I demonstrated a hack where you could redirect traffic intended for one site, such as
bankofamerica.com, to your fake website. Of course, to really make this work, you would need to make a replica of the site you were spoofing, or better yet, you could simply simply make a copy of the original site and host it on your own server!
HTTrack takes any website and makes a copy to your hard drive. This can be useful for searching for data on the website offline such as email addresses, information useful for social engineering, hidden password files (believe me, I have found a few), intellectual property, or maybe replicating a login page for a Evil Twin site to capture login credentials.
Using HTTrack is fairly simple. We need only point it at the website we want to copy and then direct the output (-O) to a directory on our hard drive where we want to store the website. One caution here, though. Some sites are HUGE. If you tried to copy Facebook to your hard drive, I can guarantee you that you do not have enough drive space, so start small.
In an earlier tutorial on hacking MySQL databases behind websites (MySQL is the most widely used database backend behind websites), we used a website that we could hack with impunity called
webscantest.com. Let's try to make a copy of that site to our hard drive.
We can open the IceWeasel browser (or any browser) and view the contents of our copied site to the location on our hard drive. Since we copied the web site to /tmp/webscantest, we simply point our browser there and can view all the content of the website! If we point it to /tmp/webscantest/
www.webscantest.com/login.html, we can see that we have an exact copy of the login page!
Now, let's try HTTrack on our favorite website,
wonderhowto.com. Let's try to make a copy of a forum post I wrote last week about the CryptoLocker hack. First, let's open that page right here and copy the address into Kali after the HTTrack command and then the location where you want send the copy to.
You can send the copied website to any location, but I sent mine to /tmp/crytoloc. When we do so, HTTrack will go into Null Byte, grab that webpage, and store an exact copy of it on your hard drive. Notice it also tells us that it is 208 bytes.
If you are trying to find information about a particular company for social engineering or trying to spoof a website or login, HTTrack is an excellent tool for both tasks. Many of you have been asking about how to create a clone website for dnsspoof or grab credentials for an Evil Twin, now you have the tool to do so!

Hi, bit of a silly question, but will this program also download the MySQL database associated with it? I'm hoping to clone the website to make a lot of changes but need to be able to view everything as it would be online. Thanks in advance
