Question on Side Notes

Forgive me if this has been asked before.

Once I've closed a side note, and it's in my Unfiled Notes, is there a way
to convert it back to a side note, short of cutting and pasting the contents
into a new side note?

What version of OneNote are you using? What, exactly, do you mean by
"convert it back to a sidenote"? Do you mean view it in that smaller
window? If you open a new Side Note you should be able to click "Back" to
go to the previous side notes.

i believe the question is whether you can convert a full size page into a floating side-note sized page, that can be pinned to float on top of all other windows.

i came to the forum looking for the answer to this question as well.i'm using OneNote 2007

He's asking how to open an existing sidenote in a separate pinnable window,
like when a new side note is created. It's a reasonable and rational question
to make: most programs for making "sticky" notes work exactly this way.

To answer the question:

1) navigate to the page (it works for any onenote page)
2) press ctrl-m, a onenote new window appears
3) resize the window so it is no longer maximised (this is necessary)
4) press F11. You now have your already created sidenote (or any other page)
in a minimalist window you can pin to the desktop
