I like OneNote a lot and often use it to start sketching technical drawings
first before converting then into PowerPoints or more formal diagrams. One
feature that is sorely missing for that purpose is the ability to group
objects such that one can more easily move, duplicate and otherwise
manipulate (color, line width, (re)size, etc.) multiple objects in a single
swoop and handle them as a single entity (after all: that's one aspect of
how we humans think: we group and abstract).

What would also be brilliant is, if OneNote knew about a type of line that
PowerPaint calls "Connecters" , i.e. lines whose ends "stick" to the objects
they are attached to.

Well, I guess, what I am really asking for is a marriage of OneNote with
PowerPoint :-)

Those requests have been heard by the product team and I'm confident that
they are being considered for the next version. I can't say for certain
whether or not they'll make it, but I think they're reasonably high on the
list of things being considered.

The main problem IMO is that objects do not stick where one thinks they
were placed out of good reason.
This makes it hardly possible to *comment* things (which certainly is
one of the major things ON is - or better: would be - useful for.

AFAICS not asking for too much, IMHO ;-)
I'm with you ;-)

The total lack of a "grouping" features bothers me by the day and by the
hour - the more as I'm a TabletPC user.

This issue has been brought up countless times. Already during the Beta
period this forum was full of complaints.
AFAICS we won't see this better prior to the next version (Office 14,
possibly appearing in late 2009). The task of changing a most
construction as the handling of objects to me seems far to big to be
handled by something like a patch or a ServicePack.

Still it might you useful, would you address the developers via the
direct line, i.e. Connect, the place for submitting suggestions and bug
reports to the developers team:
http://connect.microsoft.com/onenote/
When done, pls drop a note with the URL in here so that we can jump in
and vote for your suggestion.
