Select HelpFind Examples from LabVIEW to launch the NI Example Finder. LabVIEW examples for the MathScript Module are located in the labview\examples\MathScript directory. You can modify an example VI to fit an application, or you can copy and paste from one or more examples into a VI that you create.

Hi. I am new to labview and i have been trying to run a VI on labview and i am getting errors on the window panel. It mentions that Mathscript RT module license is invalid or missing. I went to package manager to download the module listed under labview 2020. When i use my school serial numbers to activate it, it doesnt show on the list of packages installed. What do i do if i want my labview code to use mathscript nodes?

You will need to unzip and install for your current LabVIEW version. Have you also activated this module? If you check under LabVIEW 2012 and then Modules in NI License Manager (Start>>All Programs>>National Instruments>>NI License Manager), do you see the MathScript RT Module listed and colored green? It should also say "Activated for this computer" on the right panel when selected.

If the module does show as activated, can you post more info on the behavior you are seeing? When exactly are you getting the error mentioned? Does it show up when opening LabVIEW, dropping a MathScript Node, executing code with a MathScript node in it, etc?

I see you created an email Service Request for this issue as well. The decision was made to pull this functionality out of the "core" LabVIEW environment and to create it's own module (MathScript RT Module) so that we can have dedicated R&D resources and provide better tech-support for this functionality. We'll be able to support this issue more efficiently through the email communication route.

LabVIEW student edition on windows is simply labview full edition with a watermark, as explained here and should have MathScript supported no matter what version of LV student edition you buy, as explained here.

I've previously installed labview 8.6, NI-DAQmx 8.6, and NI vision acquistion 8.6.1 on several computers, and is working fine. However, currently (on a recently reformatted computer) i've installed all these software, but for some reason, it does not have mathscript. When I open an example, it shows the mathscript node, but i cannot change it, and it's not listed in the mathematics functions (however, script node and matlab script is ..see attached image). Also, the signal express functin block is empty.

he LabVIEW MathScript Module is add-on software for the LabVIEW programming environment that includes more than 750 built-in textual functions for signal processing, analysis, and math tasks. It provides an interactive and a programmatic interface. Designed for the development of scripts, the MathScript Interactive Window features a command-line interface in which you can load, save, design, and execute textual file scripts. Designed for the deployment of scripts, The MathScript Node is a LabVIEW feature that connects your text-based variables with the inputs and outputs of graphical LabVIEW code. This module works with LabVIEW as well as all LabVIEW Real-Time hardware targets.

The NIST Pluggable modules depend on several installed software packages and third party products. Several important setup steps must be performed. If these are not performed properly, you will get one or more error messeges.

Some of the module plugins depend on MatLab. Matlahb was chosen over NI Mathscropt for several reasons, mainlyhaving to do with portability and version control. NI Mathscript does not support all Matlab functions but at present, non of these functions are known to be used so a user could create alternative plugins using NI Mathscript if so desired.

All classes in PARTF inheret from the BaseObject class. All Plugin classes inheret from BasePlugin class. All of the Plugin modules have a Base Plugin class for that module which all the plugin classes inheret from.

The administrative library and classes for the Cloneable, Pluggable modules used in the PARTF. Provides a ModuleAdmin class for maintining module properties. CloneRegistration providing properties and methods for adding, removing and accounting for instantiated clones, and VIs for synchronizing module clones and their calling applications.

In addition to the LabVIEW development environment, NI offers a variety of add-on modules that provide additional functionality or deployment to computing targets ranging from industrial real-time devices to FPGAs and microprocessors.
