Although it will, of course, be improved across newer versions, I could not
wait to make it a bit more accessible:
My vision of the digital sticky notes always included a one-click access to
writing notes anywhere on the screen; ideally, a mouse would have a button
dedicated to popping-up a note window, anywhere, which would then float in
place for a while, optionally fading behind to the desktop & collected into
the archive.
The closest thing to that I could have for now is to rig one of my mouse
buttons to launching OneNote.
Does the main executable take parameters, for specifying window co-ordinates
perhaps? Programmable through an script maybe? All ideas welcome :)
It is much convinient to have shortkey on left hand side
of keyboard, and mouse on right hand (vv for left hand
user).
For example, if I read something and want to make a note ,
I can use one hand to trigger side note and another hand
use mouse to drag or position side note. So, it can reduce
the stress of the mouse hand(from screen, to task bar,
find little icon, click it, move mouse again-- all in the
one poor mouse hand).

Mike,
Windows-N brings up Side Note in RTM. As far as I recall it did that
previously too.
On my keyboard you would need *very* long fingers to Windows-N with
one hand. :)

Glad to be of service! :)

That is a bit tougher. :)

Good idea.
>Where is that combination listed BTW?
I don't know of it being listed.
There are many useful keyboard shortcuts listed under Natural Keyboard
Shortcuts in Windows XP help.
Windows-M minimizes all windows and shows the desktop (which is where
I keep a lot of shortcuts). Can you work out how I "intelligently"
found out what Windows-N did? :) .... You don't allow a guy to keep
any illusion of competence do you? <grin/>
Speaking of Natural Keyboard Shortcuts did you know that Windows-E
brings up My Computer? Or that Windows-F starts a Search.

I don't think many people know the windows+ function
except it brings up Start.
It is really handy when all the tricky stuff can be used
frequently.
