Is there a way to set an alarm in OneNote? I.e., let's say you've created a
task list, and want to come back to that task as a reminder. Can you set an
alarm inside of OneNote to remind you?

No, but you can use the Outlook interface (assuming you have Outlook 2003)
to create an Outlook task with a reminder on it.

Or, you can attach a note flag like "To Do" (or customized note flag) to the
task list. WHen you search on the note flag, all your note flags with "To Do"
will come up.

Sure, but that won't pop up a reminder. :-)

And it doesn't start the coffee pot in the morning, either. 8-)

Here's a burning question that I'm sure I will be able to answer in a
couple of weeks (I just received the Action Pack with all the 2003
products) but I just can't wait till then. ;^)

If you create an Outlook 2003 task from within OneNote are they linked in
any way? i.e. If I edit the text of the task will it edit the text in
OneNote? If I mark it complete in Outlook 2003 will it be marked complete
in OneNote and vice versa? I have read that OneNote does not have any OLE
functionality but I was hoping for this much at least.

Unfortunately not in this version. :-(

Dramatically improved Outlook integration is high on the feature request
list, however, so I can assure you that the OneNote Dev team is taking a
good hard look at what they can do to improve that area for upcoming
versions.

Thanks for the straight answer, Ben.

I'll offer this encouragement -- improved Outlook integration is a priority
for future versions. I'm not in a position to make any promises, but I do
know that the OneNote dev team has heard this feedback loud and clear.
