Hello,
I am running onenote 2007 on Vista on a tablet pc.
Onenote will search my handwriting in some documents, but not in others.
I have little clips of typed text in the documents that onenote won't search
the handwriting. Instead it just searches the clips of text.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

1) If you're running Vista, then you're running Windows Desktop Search, and
OneNote uses WDS for its search function. Is the WDS index up to date?
Was the handwritten note which can't be searched written recently (maybe
before the WDS index has had a chance to pick it up?

2) If OneNote doesn't think the handwriting is intended to be a picture,
then it won't index it and will treat it as a picture only. How does
OneNote "see" the handwriting? Try selecting the handwriting and seeing
the value of Tools menu | "Treat Selected Ink As".

2a) Can you right-click on the handwriring and convert it to text? That
will also tell us how OneNote "sees" the handwriting.

Hello again,
It is definitely seeing the ink that I can't search differently than the ink
that I can search. I can search what is treated as handwriting and not what
is treated as a picture.
How do I make sure that everything that I write is treated as handwriting??
Thanks!

For existing content: Select it and then click on Tools | Treat Selected
Ink As | Handwriting.

To ensure that all new content is treated as handwriting, click on Tools |
Pen Mode | Create Handwriting Only
