If there are limits, I'd think they'd be practical rather than technical.

Max pages: should be no limit (we have tested with thousands of pages)
Max subpages: should be no limit
Max Section: the number of files you can store in a directory (depends on
your filesystem type, I think Fat32 is ~65k and NTFS is like 4B?)
Max Notebooks: should be no limit
Of course you will be limited by your UI and you would have to scroll around
a lot.

I sent a page from MSDN to OneNote 2007. There were about 20 reference
link URLs on the page. It totally crashed ON. I would open it, click
that page and it would stall out. I once waited and it was locked up
all night.
I finally had to try to open it, QUICKLY click a different page. Then
move to that page and VERY QUICKLY click the contain and wait about 10
mins for it to properly select it. (This was my 4th attempt at this
without a crash and had to turn off EVERYTHING on my system to get it
to select that container without a stall/crash).
I FINALLY managed to select it and hit delete...and waiting another 20
mins for it to actually accept that command and delete that container!
Whew! I'll never do THAT again. The whole deletion of that one
container took me about 3.5 hrs to complete (considering stalls,
waiting time, crashes, recoveries, reboots!)
Just curious, is there any way to delete a page without opening a
notebook within ON? Any backdoor data file?
(Other than that one overdose...I AM madly in love with ON 2007.<g>)
