This has been bothering me for a few years so I finally decide to ask about
it.
I did a custom installation of Office 2007 and I only have Word 2007
installed, nothing else.
I have Windows Update configured to notify me of new updates but not to
install them. For some reason, Windows Update notifies me of *all* the Office
product updates, not just Word. Right now, as I am typing this e-mail, I have
a total of 14 completely useless updates waiting for me to download. I don't
have Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook or anything else (other than Word) installed.
Why I am I being pestered to download and install all these updates for
products that are not installed?!
Thanks very much.

Okay, thanks for the reply.
My only "solution" is not to select updates for those products that are not
installed. It's simple enough but it still seems silly that I would even be
*offerred* to update products that are not installed.
Thank you again.
