Lets try this again... I was given a copy of Microsoft Office 2000
Professional, however it only contains the shortcuts, not the files. After a
big mess I was told to download updates, but where do I start? Since I don't
have the files loaded just the shortcuts can I still download updates?
Felling very frustrted and stupid!!

If you were not given an original CD, then there is nothing you can do.
Sounds like you got a porrly made bootleg copy. I hope you didn't pay for
it.

I have come to the same conclusion, and no I did not have to pay for
it, thank goodness! Thanks!

I would strongly suggest you do *not* run bootleg copies of anything on your
computer. Besides the ethical issues of having stolen software on your
computer, you also risk turning your computer into a large paperweight.
