Go to Outlook's Import/Export in the File menu and follow directions. Having
entered the path to my .eco file in the "Import a file" window, I click <Next> at
the bottom of the window and Outlook pops up a message that says:
"The file <path to my .eco file> must be opened in Ecco before the import can
proceed. Click OK when Ecco is ready or /Cancel if the file was not opened."
Having been to this point in earlier attempts, I already had my file open in Ecco,
so this message is pretty bogus! Anyway, I click <OK> at the bottom of the
message. Then I get a popup window labled "Translation Error" that reads:
"A file error has occurred in the ECCO 2.0, 3.0, 4.0 translator while getting the
contents of a file system.
"Timed out! The ECCO Application could not find the file. (BULL - it's open in
another window - side comment by me!) Try opening the file <path to .eco file) in
ECCO and leave ECCO running before attempting this translation."
Does anyone have any suggestions? One thing that occurs to me is that I am
using Ecco Version 4.01 - is this too far past Version 4 for Outlook's import
utility to work?
I'm doing this on my old computer (Win98). My new computer is Win2000
Professional. Also, I am in NY for a few months and my Ecco CDs are in WI and
inaccessible.
Anybody got any ideas on what I should do?
Thanks,
Paul Newton
