I have a new PC with Vista 64 on it and I'm trying to install MS Office
2007. I have a valid 2-user licence for Office 2007 Pro-Plus (bought for my
son from a certified MS partner/educational reseller) with one licence still
free. When I try to install Office from the CD I get a message halfway
through the install saying "Setup cannot find proplus.ww\office64ww.msi,
browse to a valid installation source and then click ok". If I browse to the
install disk and click OK then the system just comes up with the same error
message again.
Based on suggestions found on various forums I have tried copying the
contents of the CD to my hard drive and running the install from there but I
still get the same error.
I have tried uninstalling all previous Office installations using the
official MS tool (from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971179/#FixedAlways)
before performing the new install but this doesn't help either.
In frustration I decided to give up on Pro Plus and see if I could install
the Office Home & Student edition, for which I also have a spare licence
available (bought from Amazon), and I still get the same error, the only
difference being that the "missing" file is in the homestudentr.ww folder
rather then the proplus.ww one.
Can anyone tell me what I have to do to get MS Office working on my lovely
new Vista 64 machine?
Thanks in advance
Indie Blue

I have seen quite a few people report this problem online but cannot find any
solutions that work for me...
