I keep getting 'blue screen errors' ever since I installed
Office XP it has mostly been happening in Excel and it
isn't specific to anything that I am doing. Office XP is
sitting on a Windows 98 platform if that helps to explain
anything. The error messages I have noted are thes two:

An exception OE has occurred at 0028:C0275731 in VXD
VREDIR (03) + 00000731. This was called from
0028:C00783E4 in VXD VREDIR (01) = 000075A8. It may be
possible to continue normally.

the second is similar but different numbers:
An exception OE has occurred at 0028:C000754C5 in VXD
VREDIR (01) + 00004689. This was called from
0028:C0084A64 in VXD VREDIR (01) = 00001094. It may be
possible to continue normally.. It may be possible to
continue normally.

what do these messages mean???
can anyone out there help me?

cheers
Rachael

The solution is to upgrade to Windows XP. I haven't been
able to crash it. And this is coming from someone who in
10 years hasn't dealt with a Microsoft product or
operating system that HASN'T had major problems. Remeber
the adage: "Don't open Windows. It lets the bugs in."

Seriously, Windows XP - go for it.

You may need to upgrade your video driver software on the graphics
card....especially if you've not done that in a while but have downloaded
recently the DirectX 8.0.
