See http://www.slipstick.com/exchange/convert.htm for a summary of
conversion procedures. When you import into an Outlook Contacts folder, you
have the option of updating duplicates or adding new entries.

Update to previous message:

I did find the IE switch to let it go back to Internet Mail and the
stated transfer worked as expected. Unfortunately, this merely
transferred the problem. Now I can't find a way to transfer the email
list from Internet Mail to Outlook - and it is too depressing to think
about how to merge the result into my Outlook contact data base.

Sue,

Thank you for your response. I went the referenced page (very
interesting, thank you). I found the following:

Netscape
Microsoft Internet Mail Windows
Address Book
From Internet Mail,
choose File,
Import, Address
Book.

However, went I went to Outlook's File|Import function (IE 3 now brings
up Outlook rather than Internet Mail) I find many import filiters
including Access Sidekick, various delimited fromats, etc. Alas, there
is no line item for Netscape's address book. Any suggestions?
