Hello,

I would like to implement software that allows users to fax hefty documents
(about 30 pages) from their desktop. Ideally, the software would meet the
following qualifications:

1. Some feature that allowed the appending of some sort of 'digital
signature' for signing important docs.

2. It would also be nice to not have to install a fax modem in everyone's
machine, just install a network card in the destination fax.

I am completely new to this situation. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,
Karen

You need to checkout the features a full FAX software application such as
Symantec WinFax Pro. I sure you will get other suggestions.

Fax is installed as a printer. In lose terms, when you Fax you are printing
to the fax printer which just happens to be your modem. Generally everyone
on a network can print to the fax modem on one computer (one at a time) as
you would to a printer on the network.

Put the signature "in" the document e.g. if Word, have the signature in a
separate document and paste it in as a *gif.

If you are networked, I think you need a stand alone pc to act as a
fax-server. the modem is attached to the server. You then need client fax
software like ZetaFax installed on the fax-server pc. Each of your users is
set up as a ZetaFax user.

In Word, you print to the ZetaFax printer - window pops up prompting user
for fax number. Tap it in and away they go.
