There were four versions of Office2000...
Standard (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Professional (above plus Access)
Premium (Professional plus FrontPage and PhotoDraw)
Small Business Edition (Hmmm, I'm sure Bob will correct me if I'm wrong but
I think Professional plus Small Business Tools)

Standard, Professional, Premium were all also available as upgrade editions
as well as full editions. Don't know about SBE (over to you Bob!)

I guess it depends on what application you want to run your special software
as to which edition you need. Remember that Office2000 (any version) is
getting harder to find now since OfficeXP has been out since May 31st 2001.

Hi Julie,

If you need Access 2000 you'd need Office 2000
Professional or Premium if the application
doesn't support an Access runtime. You may also
want to see if you can use Office XP rather
than Office 2000.

You can get an Office XP Professional 30 day
eval (single machine) through
http://microsoft.com/office/trial

Hi Cari,

Very close :) This was the basic Office 2000 lineup:

Office 2000 Standard Edition:
Excel, Outlook, Photo Editor, Powerpoint, Word

Office 2000 Small Business Edition:
Excel, Outlook, Photo Edtior, Publisher,
Word, Small Business Tools

Office 2000 Professional Edition:
Access, Excel, Outlook, Photo Editor, Powerpoint,
Publisher, Word, Small Business Tools

Office 2000 Premium Edition
Access, Excel, Frontpage, Outlook, Photo Editor,
Photodraw, Powerpoint, Publisher, Word,
Small Business Tools

Office 2000 Developer Edition (MOD2000)
Office Premium + Developer Tools CD
(the Developer Tools CD could also be purchased
separately)

There were also 'specialized bundles' that would
put different combinations in the box along with
one of those Office 2000 Editions (for example
there was a Professional + FrontPage bundle).
Some of the bundles were only in specific countries.

OK, so I'm definitely NOT a developer, just a plain ol' everyday user!!!!!

Microsoft event - thanks MS!)
