So can any of you assist me with this?
Matt
If you have protected a Word 95 file with a write reservation password,
open the document in WordPad or NotePad. You can then save the document
with no problem. ( With a document password in place, WordPad and
NotePad still can't open it).If you send a Word 6 or Word 95
password-protected document as an e-mail attachment from within Word
(using the Send command from the File menu), the password protection is
stripped off the attached file. This means that you could send a file to
yourself, and it should again be readable. This problem was fixed in
Word 97. (This problem does not exist if you send the document file as
an attachment from within your normal e-mail client. )
If its a later version only suggestion is searching for Hack sites on
the web, although there are a lot of commercial programs out there which
will help you do this (Fairly Cheap as well).
More info and I will try to have a look into it.

Good luck!

Look at www.soft4you.com/mso2000/. This is shareware site. You can find
some password-recovery programs at this site.
Best regards,

Check out this URL: www.passwordservice.com/crack.html
This is a password-recovery service that can help you.

They have password recovery software for most Office products. They are the
only service I know of that has guaranteed recovery of Word and Excel files by
Key search rather than password search (there are billions of billions more
passwords than there are keys so a key search takes a lot less time) and have
the computer power (a massively parallel computer array) to pull it off in a
reasonable time

I think there could be a virus at play here.
We have also had customers who have had corrupted Access Database files that
have suddenly demanded passwords, with the customer also insisting that no
password was applied. In this case the culprit may be that a user has turned
off the computer with a pending file commit. If you have unsophisticated
computer users, they should be made aware that files may be corrupted under
these circumstances.
