My laptop with Office 2000 suite + Win ME suddenly has
these problems:
1. In Outlook, when clicking on .docs, .xls, .ppt, .jpg
attachments, it takes about 3 minutes to load.
2. In Explorer, when clicking on same kind of files, it
also takes 3 minutes to load.
3. But, if the application program is launched first, and
then clicking File--Open command, the documents open up
promptly.
these problems:

Have done detect & repair to correct the problem, but it
comes back after a couple of hours.
This symptom does not happen to other document types like
acrobat and Autocad.

It might be a symptom of running Norton Antivirus.
