Two PCs require two copies of the software. You can't install one copy on
two systems unless you buy a license.

I would like to have my new pc exactly mirror my old one as far as apps and
file structure. How does this work with the new office that locks itself to
a specific pc.

Office only lock to a specific computer if is pre-installed by the OEM.

If your versions of Office XP and Money are retail versions, just uninstall
from your old computer and install on your new computer. Office XP should
internet activate if it has been more than 120 days since original
activation. If not, use the telephone option.

If your Office XP is an upgrade version, you will need the installation CD
for the qualifying version to insert in your CD drive {the qualifying
version does not need to be installed.}

Ok, I have the same issue, but I'm still confused. I have
a retail version of Microsoft Office for students and a
new computer is on the way. I was under the impression
that I would not be able to reinstall my software on my
new computer because when it was activated on my old
laptop, Microsoft took hardware information in order to
combat piracy. Does reinstallation vary according to the
license agreements?

As long as it is removed from the old computer, you can install it on the
new computer and, when prompted to activate, select the telephone method to
activate. Speak to a CSR and tell them you removed from the old and
installed on the new and you should have no problems.

I have the OEM installed version, will calling a CSR and telling I removed the software from the old computer work as well, or do I need to purchase the retail version?
Many Thanks!

OEM is Non-transferable. You need to buy a retail copy.
