A client of mine has sent me a file ending in .pub. No component in Office 97
opens this file (I know about file types, etc.). Is this a Publisher file?
Is there a converter I can install for Office 97, or is it simpler to just
purchase Publisher?

Thanks for the help,

Charles

Yes, a pub file is probably a MS Publisher file. I know of no way to import it
into Word. A .pub file can be saved as .rtf, but it is text only. It certainly
seems to me they should be convertible, but I don't know of any way.

Good luck,
Mary

AFAIK the problem is with graphics and the way Publisher builds up the
different elements in the .pub file. not being exportable to or useable by
Word in the formats it understands.
If you get Publisher you can edit individual text elements of a .pub file
within Word, though.

Unless anyone knows different, of course.
