In restoring word and excel files (4.3) to a new server, the word files,
were recognized as word files and called the word application, which open
with a convert file menu box. These files were always word files. Once you
select a format, the file appears as little boxes. The excel files receive
the prompt unknown format and ask that the file be opened with a higher
version and saved as whatever version of excel is desired, once opened.
There always were Excel files and were not created in Excel 97. Any
sugestions?
