MS Works to Office 97

I have Microsoft works on a Windows 3.1 machine. Can I buy the Office
97 upgrade version the use on a Windows 95 Machine, using the master
backup diskettes as proof of ownership?

D. Smith: I bought MS Office97 Professional edition upgrade version on the
basis of having MS Works with no other suites on my machine. Legally you
would have to agree to the EULA which states (paraphrased) basically to do
what your asking would require you to remove Microsoft Works from the 3.1
machine, install it on your Windows95 computer, then you could install the
Microsoft Office97 (upgrade). PS. If you have any of the subparts of
Office (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, etc.), then you could install just those
parts onto the Win95 machine. This also applies to having other word
processors, spreadsheets, presentation graphics or database programs on
your Win95 machine.
