I cannot export/import my address book/contacts in my Outlook 2000 because
my import/export engine is not installed. I am not able to install it
because it calls for an Office 2000 Standard CD. I have installed Outlook
2000 Professional. The Outlook 2000 Standard was probably installed on the
machine by the previous owner and I do not have the original software. I
have tried to delete the Standard version but have had no success as this
also calls for the original software.

Does anyone have any idea as where to go from here? How can I delete the
standard version from my computer? Would this automatically allow me to
install the import.export engine? How do I make sure that I don't lose any
of my data?

Thank you.

Anne

Hi Anne,

Mixing Office Editions can produce some interesting results :)
You may want uninstall and use the registry cleaner before
installing
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q238/4/13.asp
although as you don't have the previous CDs you may want to
consider a fresh start after erasing the prior version.

to minimize the risk of other problems down the road.

Be sure to back up your files prior to doing any setup task.
The primary Outlook file would be Outlook.PST
