As an additional note, if you are using Office XP then use "(System
default)" in the 'Menu Animations' list.
If the problem still occurs then you'll need to go to "Display" in
your Control Panel and change menu animations there. Where the option
is exactly depends on your OS. For example in WinXP you need to select
the Appearance tab and then click "Effects".
