Hello -

My small company is having an issue where, old document
properties return, even when they've been deleted.

Here's an example. We have a powerpoint presentation. It
has a name and company listed in the comments field.

We delete the information, by going to properties, and
highlighting and deleting the information in the comments
field. We then save the document. Open it and check
properties. The information is gone.

But if someone else opens the document and resaves it -
the comment information reappears! Yikes.

Any thoughts will be warmly received.

TIA - Vicky

P.S. We went thru every server drive and every desktop
hard drive and deleted this particular comment information
(powerpointo, excel, word documents) and still it returned.

Hi Vicky,

You didn't mention the version of Office that
you are using. Newer versions have more
user level interface settings for some of this.
Generally the author information
is stored in an Office file every time it is saved
and is also in the template files that are used
to create new documents, but generally not in the
Comments field. Are you using any add-ins with
your Office software or a document management system?

This article may be helpful to you.
