Mail merge emails with attachments

I am trying to do a mail merge in email format for work
and attach an attachment but if I insert it as am object
when you sent the email, it wont let the recipient opent
it.

I have alos tried doing this via outook but don't know how
to attach an attachment.

When you create an e-mail message in Outlook (File/New), you should get
an icon on the toolbar that looks like a paper clip -- this is the
Attach tool. The other way to see it is to go to Insert/File when
composing a message.
