Hey,

Since upgrading to Mac OS 9.1 I've had the following problem: When I click
on a URL or command-click on a URL, Entourage tries to open up Explorer but
stops short. If I then try to open Explorer myself, the computer crashes.

If Explorer is already open, however, clicking on the URL works just as it's
supposed to. Any ideas what's wrong?

My system: G3/266 MT, 192 MB RAM, running without Virtual Memory.

Regards,
/carlos

Try this:
> Copy (don't move) the "Microsoft Internet Library" from the system's

I am having this exact problem on PowerMac 9500/132 with 266MHz Newer
MAXPower G3 Upgrade running OS9.0.4.

I am currently just making sure that IE is already launched before
attempting to click a URL within Entourage, or using solely Communicator for
browsing. Bit frustrating however.

For what it's worth, I'm having the same problem on OS 9.0.4 on my iMac
SE/500, 256 RAM. If I open Explorer when Entourage is open, my computer
freezes. Any ideas what's going on? Any and all help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Remove all of your IE plug-ins, then add them back one at a time until you

I believe it is something to do with the QuickTime plugin, try removing
that. Worked for me!

I have the same problem on both my Wallstreet 292 and my G4 MP450. Both are
running OS9.1 (although I was experiencing this with 9.0.4 as well). It
doesn't happen all the time, but is quite annoying. It seems that quite a
few people are having the same troubles, has anyone found a solution (I
don't cosider removing something as fundamental as Quicktime a solution).
Surely there has to be a fix if this may people are experiencing the same
thing.

Not only is there a fix, but it's published here every day or two. You only
have to look through the newsgroup postings.

1) If you have the Windows media Plug-In in Internet Explorer, trash it.

2) Copy - not move - the Microsoft Internet Library from Extensions folder
to the Office subfolder of the Microsoft Office 2001 folder.

3) If there's still a problem (unlikely), trash your Internet Preferences
file from Prefs folder as well.
