I'm trying to install the IBF on in virtual Windows 2003 pc. The virtual
Windows 2003 pc does not logon to a domain. I use the local Administrator
account to logon. After installing the IBF I want to test the two services
that are installed. On the virtual pc they both work. But when I try to use
the browser on my laptop and I type the url's I get a logon dialog. I don't
want that and I don't know how I should logon. Can somebody give me a hint
(of even better the solution) where to look.
my settings:
- IBFWebAppPool: identity is configurable 'IBFSERVER\IWAM_IBFSERVER'
- Information Bridge Read/Write service website supports anonymous access
using 'IBFSERVER\IUSR_IBFSERVER'
- in the web.config of IBFReadService/IBFWriteService authentication mode is
'Windows'
- I added login for the 'IBFSERVER\IWAM_IBFSERVER' account to the SQL Server
thanks,
Jeroen
Since you are trying to connect to a different domain you are being prompted
to login.
IBF can still work with this however you will need to use the VPC machines
credentials when publishing/importing metadata.
You may also need to give credentials to your soap port in the metadata
designer.

So what should I do next? It's no option to let the VPC be part of our
companies domain..

Yes.
>>What are these credentials then?<<
You can create a username / password to use.

What are you trying to access? What errors do you receive?

The VPC does not need to be part of the domain. You just need to pass valid
credentials for the VPC. Try creating a new user with a password instead of
using the admin account.
