I have signed VBA projects in Excel 2007 and Access 2007 with my digital
certificate created with MS Office SelfCert. Initially everything worked
fine. But if I alter the VBA code in a particular project and then re-sign
the code I receive the following error upon saving: "There was a problem
with the digital certificate. The VBA project could not be signed. The
signature will be discarded."

My digital certificate is presently installed in the following "my user
account" certificate stores: Personal; Trusted Root Certification
Authorities; Trusted Publishers; and Trusted People.

Other VBA projects in both Excel and Access, which I have not recently
changed the VBA code, are still functioning properly. The Trust Center
Macro Settings in both Excel and Access is set to "Disable all macros except
digitally signed macros." I obviously do not want to enable all macros and
this setting has always worked in the past.

Also. if I attempt to create a new digital certificate or re-create my
original digital certificate with SelfCert I receive the following error
message: "An error occurred during certificate creation. SelfCert was unable
to create your certificate." It's as if SelfCert allows the creation of
only one digital certificate and then will not create another.

I believe I came across this same problem a few years back but have
forgotten how to resolve it and I can't find any good suggestions via
Google.

I would appreciate any help anyone may offer. Thank you VERY much in
advance.

Rick,

I am having the same problem with an authenticated certificate. Have you found a solution?
