How to: Get Account Protocols Programatically

Does anyone know how to retrieve all of the account protocols (POP3,
HTTP, Exchange, etc...) of the active outlook session programatically?
The Sync Object Object doesn't have an attribute that tells this. I
can find this info in the registry, but I need it to work on many
different OS's and Outlook versions.

These settings are not exposed through Outlook Object Model or any other API
offcially supported by Outlook.
