The program will not launch, starts to launch for a few moments in the
task manager and then closes; Uninstalled, reinstalled no change.
Tried two separate windows profiles (both admins) and no change.

I tried reregistring the Es.dll and no change; Tried a clean boot
using msconfig and no change. nothing in event viewer...
Any thoughts?

Exact same issue. I uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2010 after
trying all the internet suggestions.
So fix for me was:
Uninstall OCS 2007
Uninstall Office 2010 Pro Plus
Reinstall Office
Reinstall OCS
Good to go!
