I'm confused. I thought that if you used the "dd-mmm-yy hh:nn" format
without the "tt" at the end, the date was supposed to come up in 24
hour format. That's what the help says anyway. No luck. So then I
tried changing it to HH, but when I tab out it changes it back to hh.

Odder, when you click into the field to change the value, the format
is replaced by the default one with the AM/PM, which takes up more
room and ends up larger than the field. Very annoying.

Any ideas?

When I try it, whether with Format() function or by specifying the Format
property of a text box, I do get the 24-hour time format. Where are you
doing this, in what version of Access, with what underlying field type? Is
this in an ADP? I only tested with A2003 in an MDB.
