Read Modem and PPP log

Dear all,

I would like to have some information on how to read modem and PPP logs. I
have not been able to locate this info anywere.

Please help, or point me in the right direction,

There is not a lot of details on the contents of the logs. The best thing
to do is compare a failing system to a working one.
