I run a program called CamBam under Windows 10. When I first installed it
the program always ran fine. After a Windows update a few months ago it
started acting very slow and cludgey. The cure. Terminate the process tree
and restart the program. It will sometimes start and run just fine several
times in a row, and then sometimes I'll have to terminate the program and
restart it several times.

If it starts and runs ok it continues to run fine for the entire session.

I've tried all kinds of display settings, resolutions, and compatibility
settings and the symptoms are the same.

It is a 32bit application that supports and uses multiple processors. It is
relatively graphic intensive as a CAD/CAM system using OpenGL Display mode.
It also supports some older legacy modes, but does not fully display all
details in them. Changing display modes for the program did not seem to
make any difference in the program execution. It still uses older .net
framework. It does incorporate a number of .dll plugins (add-ons) that may
have an affect, but disabling all plugins does not seem to improve the
situation either. I have had to go in and manually unblock some of the
plug-in files in order to use them.

Yes, I have uninstalled and reinstalled. Multiple times including manual
removal of files and directories left behind. I previously used this
program on a 32bit XP Pro Box and did the embedded hack to keep getting
security updates. It ran perfectly right up until I retired that computer
and started using the program on the W10-64 box. It ran just fine (and
faster) on the W10 box for months until that W10 update. The computer its
currently running on is relatively slow by today's standards and is only
dual processor running just two threads at a time. It started life as a W8
box, and was upgraded to W10 as I hated W8.

Suggestions? Please.
