Most of the wma files I ripped from CD contains a "Track" field in the properties->advance
page.
However, some of them do not have the track field. I don't remember if I ripped them from
CD directly, or converted them into wma from wav files.

Any idea how why that field is missing in some wma files, and how I can add it back?

I believe these come from files converted via MS Plus from MP3s without
track data. Pop these files into WMP9 and edit their track number there and
then things should be groovy. :)

I opened the file in WMP9 and the only place I could find to edit the track number is by
right clicking the song name and selecting advance tag editor.

But even after adding the track# and saving the file (with a different name), there is
still no track number when I look at the properties in windows explorer.

Help!

I believe you can also press F2 (Edit) when you've clicked on the blank
column where the Track Number should be...

If neither of these methods work, you may be able to get the field added
with MusicMatch's WMA tag editor... :\

Turns out the advance tag editor in WMP 9 do the trick. As does the column editing method
you mentioned.
However, I need to exit WMP and wait a second for the track number to show up in the
windows explorer.
Thanks!
