I have downloaded a film that WMP cannot download a codec to play. its in
MP43 form. I have a Matrox G200 vid card. i found a driver,(mpg4c32.dll)
that along with some reg. editing alows me to play the film in NT4, as long
as I have the hardware acceleration slider in WMP all the way dialed down.
Does anyone have a way to use wmp and keep the acceleration turned on?

MPEG-4 v3 in AVI files is not longer supported in the windows media player,
although it was supported in the beta. In order to view a files using
MPEG-4 v3 they must in ASF format.

Well how nice, so how do you get your AVI files in MP43 codec format over to
ASF????

The short term fix is to get an old dll from the beta releases that's been
floating around and then use a program like VirtualDub to bring your video
back out to AVI.

Download the Windows Media Tools, and run the encoder... it will take your
AVI as input and spit out the asf that you seek.
