I cannot get WMP to play a video DVD. The file extension is vop. I am
using Win98SE.

I get this error message when I double click on the file name in Win
Exlporer:
0xC00D1197: Cannot play the file. The path to the file is not valid.
This makes no sense since I am clicking on the file name.

Any ideas on what is causing this problem. Does WMP support a vop video
file on a CD?

2 points;

WMP does not support DVD playback unless you have a third party DVD player
installed, such as PowerDVD or WinDVD. Second, the file extension for a DVD
encoded video stream shoul be .vob, not .vop. If you indeed have fiels that
end in
a .vop extension, then you are using a proprietary format and not a standard
DVD.

I have found I can play this video with a program named Intervideo Windvd. The vop extension is on a training video for WizTrade - a stock evaluation program.
