All of my music has disappeared from my library.
They are still located in the same directories as before but do not
show up in WMP.
I have tried to reorganise my library but still nothing shows.
I was OK until recently but then they left, never to be seen
again.......unless you know better.
I'm using Win 7 but not sure of WMP version (how do I check?)

I have disabled WMP, re-booted and then re-enabled it with no positive
result.
When I try to add files to the library, it tells me that 'no items
match your search' even though I know that there are MP3s in that
specific folder.
BTW it does recognise & play midi & M4a files listed in 'other media'

I had a problem with WMP12 always showing only the default files even
though I had deleted them and added many other music files. I found a fix
here that worked great for me:

http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/fixing-when-windows-media-player-library-wont-let-you-add-files/

This pertains to Vista, but will work in Win7 too, you just need to find
the path to your windows media files which for me was in
Users/Me/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Media Player. I followed his instructions
and it worked great for me. Seems that Media Player's database can get
corrupted from time to time which causes this type of problem.
