Hi

I'm new to this group so please bear with me...
I am creating x files from the freeware Blender modeler (amongst others).
I have visited various forums who tell me just to do it, but I'm hoping
there are some experts who are prepared to give me top notch advice on this.

(1) What are the legal/licensing issues preventing me from making money
selling .x file models with the 3d engine I am designing - or is it ok to do
so?

(2) Do I need to encrypt so that they are not easily viewable/editable? How
hard is it to create binary .x files & how do you do it - can it be done
easily using conv3ds.exe?

(3) Is it ok to produce using freeware .3ds formats and converting into .x
files or is this a no-no. I don't want to waste time using formats which
require extensive licnese costs - my impression was that .x files are free to
do with as you please, but I hate to assume.

(4) If anyone knows the position of Discreet .3ds or Quake .md2 or Milkshape
.ms3d I would also be grateful - my understanding is that if you have a legit
modeler you can use these formats, but I need clarification. Anyone know how
to contact the above if the answer in unknown?

Help, please!
