Searching Microsoft Discussion Groups

When searching Microsoft's Discussion Groups from
http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx, does the
search feature utilize/recognize any boolean or other operators such as AND,
OR, NOT, etc.?

Apparently not. It searches for threads contains all the keywords
that you list.

Discussion Groups?

I believe that the Microsoft Public newsgroups (the discussion groups in the web
interface) are archived by Google Groups, so you can try searching them through
Google.

Microsoft search machines are the most disgustingly useless things. The same
happens to their windows and office help searchh making the help becoming
useless. A third party always gives better results. The same coes with their
"advanced search" as they dare call it. It is not understandable how such a
big concern selling everything so expensive does not provide some sort of a
more serious search. Of course this is why we should avoid also their web
search machines. I don't even want to try them because that is what they use
fir their sites. So...
