I have the same problem - but I haven't been able to sign in for a week -
only in my case, I know it was me entering my password wrongly (after just
changing it)!!!

I tried going to http://account.live.com, but I can't sign in there either
to change my password. Resetting my password hasn't worked either.

How long do I have to wait before I can log into my hotmail account? (I left
it 3 days without trying to log in, but that didn't work).

Thanks very much.

I have the same problem trying to logon to officelive. No reason for it as
my account and my domain are so distinct that there is unlikely anyone would
be able to guess it. And I personally never logged in recently to get this
message.

"MSN" what?
You mean Windows Live Messenger? MSN Explorer? MSN.COM?

Support for Windows Live Hotmail and other Windows Live programs and services:
Go to http://support.live.com and sign in with a LiveID
Click on the Windows Live service or product you need help with.
If you are not presented with an email support form, but are instead redirected

http://help.live.com select any topic on the left hand side or search for a
question in the search box.
The results of your search or the clicked topic appears in the right hand frame,
along with a tiny link in the lower right hand corner – “Get more help.”
Click that tiny link and you will get to a page with a link “Contact support”
Click that link and you will be presented with the email support form to fill
out. Provide as much detail as possible and you should get a response from

Since moving to the Mac I've had this problem BIGTIME! In Safari and
Firefox. The link you provided does address the problem specifically.

Among other thinks it says, "If you can't sign in after configuring your
browser to allow cookies, delete your temporary Internet files and cookies."

Is this what you recommend?

Is anyone else STILL having this problem?

Thank you in advance!

If you are unable to sign in and you are not getting a warning about having
tried too many times, so the account is locked, then the delete temporary
internet files and cookies may resolve it if the local cookie is a problem.
Sometimes an incorrect date/time on the PC causes the problem.

If, however, you are locked out of the account:
The "locked" message that you are encountering means that someone has tried to
log into your account with an incorrect password too many times. It should
unlock within 24 to 48 hours, but if you have forgotten your password and can't
reset it through the usual means, see this page for information on how to get
help with it:
