I. Locate your favorites.xml file on your computer
Note: Make sure that you are signed out of the MSN software before you
perform these steps.
1. Right click on 'Start', then click 'Explore'
2. Do the following:
a. Click 'Tools', 'Folder options', then 'View'
b. Put a dot on 'Show hidden files and folders'
c. Uncheck the 'Hide extensions for known file types' and 'Hide protected
operating system files options'
d. Click 'Apply', then 'OK'
3. Click 'Start' then 'Run'
4. Type: %appdata%\MSN6\UserData then click 'Ok'
The UserData folder will open where one or more GUID folders similar to
{488FB49A-C963-01C2-0600-00003CE27B24} are found.
5. Click 'View' on the toolbar then select 'Thumbnail'
6. Open the folder that has your picture tile on it and locate your
favorites.xml file
7. Right click on your favorites.xml then copy and paste to your desktop to
make a backup.
8. Now edit the original favorites.xml file. I deleted everything from the
file. Then after logging back into MSN, the organize favorites worked for
me! At that point all I did was add each one back in manually. I referenced
the backup favorites on my desktop to get the URL's.

1. I have same problem, exactly to your problem. It cames out first in 1one
of 1my computers, soon(in 2-3 days), all my 3 computers had samen trouble,
this fact makes me believe the trouble is on rhe msn side instead of my side
(it is almost imposbible that all my 3 computers lost some files at same
times) .
2. Then I work on one of my computer and have been tried to find out the
real problem. uptodate I find that this computer lost "favorites.xml file"
. The "lost favorites.xml file" mean I can not open this file. "The file
does not have a program associated with it for performingthi action. create
an association I the Folder Option control panel"
I am now consultating msn services (3 msn people gave me 3 differen answers)

My suspicion is that they should return, but you may want to contact MSN
Support, assuming that you are referring to Favorites in MSN Explorer.
