Hey,

I'm a user of WLM 8.0, MSN Messenger for PocketPC and GAIM.

When I log-in and am in a convo with someone, I am displayed offline to
them. Some messages bounce back to them, though some aren't. My status
is online.

This problem started when I started to use MSN Messenger for PocketPC,
along with WLM 8.0. I am displayed offline regardless of the client
(I've tried WLM, MSN Messenger for PocketPC and GAIM 2.0 B3).

It is perhaps noting my account has Yahoo! interoperability.

Suggestions?

The moral of the story is, don't use M$ products. You say you're using
Gaim, so why not use an open protocol too? Try jabber. I you really
need ot contact people who will only use MSN then get a yahoo account
since you can now talk seamlessly between yahoo and msn. Then you can
just add the yahoo account to gaim and voila.

Incidently, I've also tried Trillian Pro (the latest build)

And when I log-in to Trillian now it works... curious.

Greetings,

When you log into Windows Messenger, your account (on the server-side) is actually reset
partially as Windows Messenger uses an extremely older version of the protocol. I'm
personally not completely aware of the details, but this is has been known to fix things in
the past.

I think the problem is that somehow MSN14 disagrees with MSN for
PocketPC (don't know protocol number).

Hi,

I've forgotten which version of the protocol the PocketPC client uses. The older versions of
the client that came with Windows Mobile 2003 (out of the box) aren't even compatible with
the service and haven't for a long time.

I am also displayed offline when I am using my PC or for some people at
least. Please can you explain why. It's not everyone I think it's just people
with windows live messenger but it has only happened in the last 5 days. I
have tried uninstalling then re-installing but it hasn't had any effect.
