I installed a router yesterday (Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router) and now
my MSN Messenger will simply NOT stay on.

What needs to be done to make MSN stay on? Before the router it never had
this problem so I know there must be some obscure setting someplace to
change somewhere to keep it on.

Thanks.

are you wired to the router, or are you wireless on the router? If
you're wireless, you might have a problem with the router dropping the
connection. If you're wired, you shouldn't have any problems.

It's a wireless router but I'm wired in and I believe I've disabled the
wireless feature.

It's disconnecting regularly almost like clockwork.

I should also add the the verson of MSN Messenger I have is:

Windows Messenger
Version 4.7 (4.7.3001)

Until I hooked up the Linksys router it stayed connected without any
problems.

I have the save version of router and same version of msn. My roomate uses
the wireless on the router and he doesn't disconnect. I use the wired and I
disconnect every few minutes. I have tried so many things to fix it.

start>run>%appdata%\microsoft then deleteing the folder for msn, didn't
work
Even turned off all firewall settings on my router.
Aswell as tried different versions of msn.

If I go right into the cable modem my MSN works fine but when I introduce
the wired setting on the router it breaks it. Tips would help greatly,
thanks.
