Invitations for, and Acceptances of Requests for Voice Conversations are
sent and received, but then we get "Connecting to Mike's computer..."
message, all the while still being able to engage in text chat. We
might be fortunate to get an error message that says "...experiencing
network difficulties..." or "...try again later..."
Nothing else has changed and I continue to enjoy Voice comms with others
worldwide.
Is there anything that either of us can do to re-establish MSN Voice
comms with South Africa? (Now having to phone long-distance as before
!!!)

Hope this helps,

There's nothing specific to South Africa, but since you're still able to have voice
conversations with others without difficulty, I would say the problem is on his side.
Firstly, he should go through the Audio Tuning Wizard, just in case something has changed, to
do so, open up the main Messenger window, click the Tools menu, then Audio Tuning Wizard.
Otherwise, either his ISP has changed something (perhaps started using NAT, essentially
sharing IPs to different users), or he's (knowingly or not), established a firewall. If the
first, then there's really not much you can do (except perhaps try something like Yahoo
Messenger instead, http://messenger.yahoo.com). If he's just put up a firewall, he may just
need to uninstall it.
