My company is having a hard time tracking a MSN Messenger/Windows Live
Messenger disconnection problems that we are seeing nearly every day,
in a window of 20 minutes each day at random times. The disconnect
will hit a good majority of our office at the exact same time, and as
such, we get reconnected seeing everyone elses connect toast messages.
This is starting to be rather annoying if you can imagine, yet we are
unable to track the problem as to what the cause might be. Our
checkpoint ngx r61 firewall isn't noticing any packet drops because of
it, we do not limt outbound connections just inbound, and we aren't
noticing any packet loss on our toronto hydro telecom (fiber) line.
Our office is in a mixed state of messenger software, from MSN
Messenger 7.5 to Windows Live Messenger 8.0, 8.1 and 8.5 beta. So far,
only a handful of users that are on Windows Live Messenger 8.0 are
unaffected, while others are.
Anyone have a suggestion where we could look next?
