Messenger's Hotmail Notifications not updating

I have recently upgraded to the latest MSN Messenger
6.1.0207 on two computers (two different networks) and
have found problems with Hotmail notifications.

When I first logon to the computer, it indicates the
correct number of new Hotmail messages but it does not
update this number after reading them (i.e. it will still
say 6 new messages when there are really 0).

Also, when a new message in Hotmail arrives, Messenger no
longer throws a notification at me. Hotmail still sends
one to my mobile device, however.

No settings were changed in either Hotmail or Messenger
since the last version of 6.1 which worked fine.

Any thoughts?

Any news as to when the "server issue" might be fixed?

Hello I'm from Lima, Peru. I've been experiencing the
same problem witn my MSN Messenger but it's a problem I
have since three days ago. Please, if you solve this
problem tell me how you did it. I'm working on it and
I'll write to you if I solve it.

Does anybody else has a solution for this problem?

I am having the same problem. Is someone from MSN monitoring this issue?
Could not find any related workaround/suggestion on the MSN Q&A page.
