when using the msn or other search engines, if you type a
letter into the
search box, or double click on the search box, a list of
previous searches automatically appears. what can I do to
stop previous searches from appearing, as I may not want
others viewing these searches by accident when
searching on their own.

I know how to use internet options in Internet Explorer,
however, this does not exist in MSN Explorer.

Right click on Internet Explorer icon then hit properties you will then see
Internet Properties. Down close to the bottom right you will see Clear
History just tap it and it will clear all your History. Another way is to
install this www.ccleaner.com .

I don't have a problem clearing the site history. The
problem is trying to clear "forms" the history of search
terms you have used in the past. I have cleared forms in
internet explorer and it clears the forms in internet
explorer, however, it does not clear it for MSN explorer.
Any sugestions? will ccleaner take care of that also?

This should help you clear the search forms.

.
Microsoft Internet Explorer can automatically complete words that you type
into the address bar (The box near the top of the screen where you can type
keywords and web addresses to find information on the Web.) , forms,
password boxes, and other text boxes. This can be a security risk because
Internet Explorer automatically completes words regardless of who is using
the computer. If you are using a shared or public computer (such as at a
library or an Internet cafe), others can see or copy your information if it
is automatically completed. To prevent Internet Explorer from automatically
completing words you type, follow the procedure below.
1.. In Internet Explorer, click the Tools menu, and then click Internet
Options.
2.. Click the Content tab.
3.. Click AutoComplete.
4.. Do one or more of the following:
a.. Under Use AutoComplete for, clear the check box next to each item
that you do not want Internet Explorer to complete for you.
b.. To clear your Internet Explorer History folder of any entries you
have previously typed into web forms, click Clear Forms.
c.. To clear your Internet Explorer History folder of any passwords or
user names you have previously typed into web pages, click Clear Passwords.

I have done this, however, using the MSN Premium MSN
Explorer you can not do this. It does not have an
internet options under tools. Everything is done through
web pages. you have to click on a internet settings web
page and from there you can select a link to clear
history, select the link to clear temporary internet
folders, and a few other selections, however, it does not
let you clear forms. And that is where the problem lies.
The only way I can see to remove the data is to go to the
source and manually delete it from the folder. I just
dont know where the folder is or what the file would be
called so I can delete the thing.

Did you try going to Internet Options by way of the Control Panel.

The following advice is from "Sorin"

I was able to find out the location of the IntelliForms passwords and a way
to remove them: start Regedit (close MSN 8, go to Start, select Run, enter
"Regedit" and hit Enter), and delete this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSN6\Users\<msn_account>\IntelliForms\SPW

The other IntelliForms entries can be deleted if you recreate the MSN 8
account (close MSN 8, delete the
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSN6\Users\<msn_account>) and restart
MSN 8.

open up msn 9 explorer and go to help and settings at the top menu and
click on that , then on the left hand side choose internet options and then
on the right side browse down the list til you get to browsing history.
Click on it and that ought to fix your problem
